Monday, September 6th, 2010hi you guys.
hi you guys.
he died yesterday from cancer!!! wtf. i know Mark said he didn’t really like Kon’s movies but i figured i’d put this up anyway. Zach, remember Dan’s silly interpretation of Perfect Blue and the endless debates about it and how stubborn he was despite so much evidence contrary to his theory? good times. T_T
i was going to write a review of river night(s) but i haven’t gotten around to it.
RIVER NIGHT NEXT WEEK!!! Zach and Mark, are you pumped?! i’m trying to figure out what movies we should watch. maybe some Andrew Davis flicks. should i make a couple metal mix CDs, Mark? XD
i’m back. it was a pretty uneventful con other than hanging out with friends which was cool, and all the good/bad/funny stuff are things i can’t talk about publicly because they involve people in the industry, hehheh. the coolest thing was that one day when i was at the Oni Press booth, Alia Shawkat from Arrested Development came by and got Wet Moon 5 and a print. she is way more freckly in person. more later.
I’M GOING TO SAN DIEGO on Wednesday!!!!!!! ARGH. i wish i could stay home but i gotta go. there hasn’t been much Shadoweyes shit for Shadoweyes Month at roaringshark, but maybe i’ll have something to write about post-convention. i’ll write a post regardless, i guess, hopefully something interesting will happen.
As you can tell, we’re celebrating Ross’s Shadoweyes for the month of July.
UPDATE: New logo by Ross!
Very sad news from the world of avant-metal…ISIS is disbanding. With the end of ISIS, is their strange little corner of the musical universe at an end as well? For whatever reason, I can’t really get excited about Pelican, Red Sparowes et al. without ISIS out front, waving the flag.
While I’m of course very disappointed by the news, at least the band went out on a high note, after releasing the excellent Wavering Radiant. Weirdly, I found out about the ISIS break-up through NPR, which has decided to throw its high-brow librarian image to the wind and stream some blistering metal on its website.
Mark: Dan and i are going to see the new movie “Splice” on this coming Sunday as a matinee and then we might hang out afterward, not sure, do you want to come?! Splice has Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley and a genetically-engineered mutant girl in it.
Zach: since Splice is a matinee, do you want to move gaming to Sunday night instead?
this is my new way of contacting people.
